Sportsmen, take care of your liver.

Once upon a time there was a liver story that was tough. In high intensity sports, ice hockey, spinning, crossFit, squash, tennis and elite football, etc. drinking with water alone or worse, not getting hydrated, can tire an organ as important as the liver. The risks are even greater when these types of sports are performed at noon or early evening and no snack was ingested one hour to one hour and thirty minutes before physical activity.

Understanding glycogen

Muscle glycogen stores are low - the muscles provide storage for about 70% of the glucose provided by the diet - the effort, when intense, will quickly become painful for lack of fuel.

We could then imagine that hepatic glycogen take over - the liver ensures the storage of about 30% of glucose - but its role is elsewhere, it must maintain a constant blood glucose throughout the blood to ensure the proper functioning of the liver. set of organs, including the brain! Which is a large consumer of sugars, especially during intense efforts, both physical, but also psychic.

The passage of liver glycogen in the muscle fibers being very limited, it will be necessary to find other solutions, among these, always drink with the effort at least a contribution of maltodextrin and sodium or even better, take a drink effort like the BN Now. And do not forget a snack such as dried fruit with dark chocolate 60%.

Finally I observe in my consultation among athletes who do not feed properly before and during the effort decreased liver function. This often results in a lack of appetite in the morning and greater general fatigue.

Reminder about the roles of the liver ...

First, the liver acts as a filter: it purifies, cleans and detoxifies the blood of pollutants that have crossed the intestinal barrier.
Then the liver is also a storage organ. It stores iron, so often very low among athletes, stores certain vitamins (A, D, B12 ...), etc.
Finally we can say that it is an organic plant, it participates in the manufacture of fatty acids, cholesterol, bile salts, proteins and blood coagulation factors, while regulating the level of hormones.
Thus, we understand that supporting the liver is fundamental, especially for athletes!

A few tips...

In the morning, drink the juice of an organic lemon with liquid organic curcuma and add 2.5 dl of tempered water.
During the day, consume one to two cups of tea pu erh.
Keeping faith in a proper diet is your liver that will thank you and cascade your whole body!
